QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years full time experience under the supervision of a broker immediately preceding date of application for broker's license. The three year experience required to qualify for licensure as a broker must be full time during normal business hours, meaning at least 40 hours per week.
- Successfully complete 150 hours of instruction in an approved school concurrent with the holding of a salesperson's license , and Pass school exam.
- 18 years of age.
- High School education or equivalent.
- A broker candidate must be a legal resident of the United States, but need not be a citizen.
- Disabled Veterans can do broker classes without having the three years of Salesperson experience in real estate.

NJ Broker licensing candidates should contact the New Jersey Real Estate Commission, prior to selecting a program, to determine qualification status and to obtain approval for the course work they intend to pursue.
Out of State Licensees, seeking a New Jersey Broker or Salesperson license, should contact the NJREC @ 609-292-7272, ext. 50137 or 50147, prior to registering for a NJ Real Estate Licensing program, to determine eligibility, requirements and to obtain application approval for the required course work.
